Ramadan is about more than just fasting.
For Muslims, fasting doesn't just mean abstaining from food but also abstaining from all immorality, conscious or unconscious. It is believed that refraining from food and sex during Ramadan builds self-discipline and allows participants to avoid sinful acts in the rest of life.
Therefore, fasting during Ramadan is not about being in better shape, but about living a more righteous life through the discipline of living life as it is meant to be lived.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galations 5:22-23
We know that it is the Holy Spirit who produces righteousness in our lives. We cannot do it on our own. But for Muslims... they believe that they must accomplish it on their own strength. How proud we would be if we could! But the truth is that it is impossible.
Prayer Request
Pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal himself to our Muslim brothers and sisters and help them to live in dependence on Him.
