Muslims try to make God happy with them. All they know of Him is from the Qur’an, which teaches them that “God is always watching” (4:1, 33:52). Each Muslim hopes that the good they do will outweigh their sin. When it comes to salvation, there are no guarantees.
So in the end, their lives are driven by fear.
Muslims greatly fear what others will think of them. They are tentative to do anything for fear that they would embarrass themselves and their families. If they do, they will at least be scorned by society if not actually physically harmed or killed.
This makes the decision to accept Jesus a very difficult one. Many Muslims want follow Christ but don’t because of their fear of what will happen to them.
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father”. Romans 8:15
